are you tempted?

after skipping  my run schedule last week,  i thought i have to start my Monday right.  it’s my 5th of 16 weeks of training and i did pretty good, short of 4 seconds to achieve my target race pace.  thank God for the beautiful sunny weather yesterday, air was crisp and was really a nice day for a run.

Monday run

Okay, it was not laziness,,, let’s just say, due to unforeseen circumstances beyond my control, i was not able to do any runs last week, that sounds better…   i was entertaining my demons, the thought of maybe not running the race in May, never mind the expensive registration i paid for, i was feeling lazy,, er i mean.. was stressed out last week i thought i’d call the whole thing off…

but of course i know i should not succumb to the temptation.  maybe it’s part of my menopausal stage? or midlife crisis? whatever it is, i’m glad that i am able to snap out of it easily.  though it’s really tempting to do what’s easy or mope and feel sorry for myself for any reason.

how do you handle temptations? i bet there’s a high chance one will be tempted in a day, either in words, or deeds or just anything, because the enemy (the devil) will work 24/7 just to get his foothold.  the best thing to do is, just turn away, reverse the thought, and shift your focus on the good outcome, not what’s good for yourself but good in the eyes of the Lord and PRAY for the Holy Spirit to lead you OUT of the temptation…  i know, it’s easy for me to say it too, but you know what, let this be your (and my) guide in handling temptation:

“No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.” ~1 Corinthians 10:13

God bless you and be steadfast in faith,,, and run fast… away from temptations, i.e.   🙂
