heard this phrase from a “CHOPPED” tv show contestant, he said he is “too blessed to be stressed” … nice!
okay. so we moved to this new place.. it was something we were so looking forward to, so that we will already get on with our lives.
first attempt to move was really frustrating, we were hoping to move our stuff 2 days earlier than our contracted term, as the landlord gave the go signal and even ok’d for us to start spending the night here. we already almost emptied the previous unit on the first day when landlord called and told us to do the moving the next day instead, at 8 a.m.
since everything has been loaded up in the U-haul van we rented, it will have to stay like that overnight until the next day, and we knew we will be charged additional costs for that. then, come 11 p.m. landlord sent husband a text message, telling us again to move in at 12 noon instead of 8 a.m. hmmm…
to make the long story short, landlord ended up paying for the U-haul expense, we moved in 8 a.m. whether he is done with cleaning up the place or not since a new family was already moving in at the unit we vacated. here, it was disappointingly not repainted, not thoroughly cleaned, it smelled bad, and everything that we expect to be done were not done and yet we were told that it will be in order by the time we move in. we are not difficult tenants, lucky for the landlord you think? well, we had no choice, lest we end up unloading our things on the sidewalk, and yes, it’s not over yet, husband deals with him while I do what i need to do. i vacuumed, i wiped, sprinkled baking soda on the carpet, sprayed diluted vinegar, sprayed air freshener, and do everything over again and again, but we also requested landlord to have the carpets shampooed.
so now, i think the suite is 80% okay, we are adjusting well, and indeed, i am too blessed to be stressed. 🙂 look at the positive side was what i have brainwashed myself into doing rather than feel frustrated and whine.
