house cleaning….

went house cleaning today, Saturday, er,, nope, not my house, because my house gets cleaned Mondays, when husband is whole day at work, no one to disturb me, i can turn the entire one bedroom suite upside down and play my music while doing so.. on other days, he sleeps early in the afternoon since he works the graveyard shift..  no noise allowed and no movements allowed…

so, back to the cleaning,, it was our annual church cleaning day.. well, it only happens once a year, at summertime, so i expected it to be a GENERAL cleaning, inside and out and top to bottom..

turned out it was not that bad,  the senior ladies and I were busy polishing the pews, dusted the Bibles and Hymnals and put them in their places, while the men were out in the garden with the shovel, and other yard work, roof/gutter clearing, window wiping etc…

Pastor Sam played beautiful Praise music on the stereo as he vacuumed and while we did our cleaning.

come 12 noon, the bell “rang” so to speak, it’s chow time… we all enjoyed chicken sandwiches and soup served for lunch…and of course the fellowship!

it feels good to have a clean house of worship… not only that it is the place where we get together and commune with Him, it is where we pour our Praises and Worship altogether as one family in Christ. Cleanliness is next to Godliness as the old adage says, and i believe so, even in our own selves.. Keeping a clean heart makes us feel God’s presence in our lives more meaningful and more joyful in a lot of circumstance. We need to purge ourselves of unclean thoughts, ungodly ideas and that include hopelessness and lack of faith. Purifying our spirit is one way to accept and understand God’s will.. He said, “Be still and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10). how can we hear His voice if all in our mind is chaos and fear? we ought to wipe, dust, sweep, wash all anxieties away and then everything will be clearer!! 🙂
